StreetCenterline shapefile originates from an ESRI "GeoDatabase" format. A few things I noticed with the shapefile export that you might want to be aware of: o When exporting to shapefile, some of the field names are truncated. I think you will be able to figure out the primary ones (name, address range, etc) and you can ignore some of the other fields which relate to transit, E911 and other stuff that I’m sure you don’t need. o Some of the attribute switch to the numeric code instead of displaying the actual name like it does on the GeoDatabse. So for example, we see “City of Green Bay” in the geodatabase world, but when I export to shapefile it reverts to the Domain code which is something like “5”. If this is an issue let me know and I can send you a lookup table. o The street name alias are lost when converting to shapefile. The name “label” field displays only the primary street name, which in cities we default to the “local” name (so for example, the street name label field is coded as “Main St” rather than State Highway 30 or whatever. With the geodatabase we have a 1:M related table so that all viable street names can be viewed for any given street with the database relationship.
