Brown County has an informal policy set by Corporation Council and County Administration regarding owner name redaction from the public tax roll database. The policy is generally that a land owner can request (in writing or email to the Property Listing office) to have his or her name removed from the public-facing land records. Property Listing will then check these property owners as "Confifential" in the GCS Land Records System, which keeps these owner names off of the public-facing land information web portal and GIS file exports.
