Use the tabs above to download aerial photo, topographic, and parcel files using a map index.  With the map index you can zoom to your area of interest then click on the map to download files(s) for that area.

Other downloadable datasets are listed below.

Most of the GIS datasets listed below are managed as countywide layers, therefore you won’t need the tabs above or map index to determine the section or location.

Address points:  Download county-wide shapefile (click here).  The all-inclusive  File Geodatabase also contains address point and annotation data.

Aerial photos:   Use the tabs (above) to access the map index to locate and download TIF file(s) for the 2020 dataset.  SID format files  are listed by year (including 2023) and by municipality here.

Boundaries (countywide municipal, districts, wards, etc):  Download shapefiles (click here).  The all-inclusive File Geodatabase also contains boundary layers and may be more current.

Elevation Contours and points (LiDAR):  Use the tabs above to access the map index to download section-based files from the April 2010 flight.  Alternatively:

·         Download countywide digital elevation data from the April 2010 LiDAR project: Click here

·         New:  Download digital elevation data from the April 2020 LiDAR project:  Click here  (this is not countywide yet, but the full dataset should be delivered by USGS in 2022).

File Geodatabase (all inclusive, county wide):  Click here to download the all-inclusive county GIS database (many layers/feature classes including detailed parcels, streets, addresses, and more)

Parcel Land Records (tax database) Download  Microsoft Access database files (click here).

·         GCS raw data dump files are also available with this link (look for file names containing TX00MC).

Parcel Map files:  Download as CAD DWG, shapefile, or GeoDatabase (click here). Use the tab map index to locate CAD files.  GIS users may want to download the all-inclusive File Geodatabase for a countywide parcel dataset that includes annotation.

Streets and other transportation layersDownload countywide here. Formats include shapefile and geodatabase.  A more current transportation dataset may be found within the comprehensive File Geodatabase.

Surveys, Section Corner Tie Sheets and other survey data:  Click here to open the Brown County Survey Index and Tie Sheet Viewer app.

All other map layers are within the File Geodatabase.  Within the all-inclusive geodatabase you’ll find complete addresses, parcels, transportation/streets, administrative boundaries, census data, districts/wards, hydrography, ESAs, flood mapping, land use, parks, POWTs, schools, and more.  You will need Esri Desktop software (ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro) to view the contents of the File Geodatabase.
